Connie Britton and Eric Bana Take You Behind the Scenes of Dirty John
Bana also reveals how the show's portrayal of his character, John Meehan, will differ from the podcast.
It's official: We are now only weeks away from the premiere of Bravo's new scripted show Dirty John. The upcoming anthology series, which is based on The Los Angeles Times articles and hit podcast of the same name from reporter Christopher Goffard, follows the story of Orange County interior designer and single mom Debra Newell's (Connie Britton) relationship with the mysterious John Meehan (Eric Bana). Now the show's stars are taking you behind the scenes with an exclusive backstage glimpse at what's to come in the video above.
"The podcast was such an extraordinary story," Britton said. "What excited me about playing this role is how easy it is to be conned by someone and how destructive that can be."
Bana, hailing from Australia, revealed that this will be his first American TV show. He said his biggest challenge in portraying John Meehan was giving him "enough warmth and humanity" and then transitioning to a "very dangerous place." He also shared the exclusive "unique opportunity" that the series presents for his character, which the podcast did not have — check that out in the video above.
Dirty John premieres on Sunday, November 25, at 10/9c. Enjoy some more sneak peeks at the Orange County drama to come, below.
