Guerdy Abraira "Proudly" Looks Back on Her Cancer Journey And Reveals What's Next for Russell: "I Won"

The Real Housewives of Miami event planner also revealed the importance of showing off her “battle wound.”

Back in May 2023, Guerdy Abraira announced on her social media that she had been diagnosed with stage one breast cancer. Throughout Season 6 of The Real Housewives of Miami, viewers were able to follow her journey as she navigated the challenges of her diagnosis, including shaving her hair off in anticipation of the side effects of chemotherapy.

On the finale, we witnessed the exact moment when Guerdy found out that she was officially cancer free. “I’m so excited about my next phase in my life because honestly I just Guerdified cancer,” she said in a confessional interview. “So, I can do anything moving forward. I have no doubt.”  

Now, on Part 2 of the RHOM Season 6 reunion, which aired on February 29, Guerdy opened up about her cancer journey and shared what’s next for her in life.

During the reunion, Guerdy discussed why she decided to document her cancer battle. “I mean, I did it for me, obviously, to share that this is like a lot… It was more about I’m going to show this from A through Z,” she explained, adding, “I’m going to be resilient because that’s what Haitian people are it’s in our blood, and I just wanted to make sure people saw that you can still have a normal life.”

Right after, Guerdy disclosed that she “saved 300 lives” by bringing awareness to breast cancer. The event planner also shared that it’s her “goal” to change the “lack of resources” for Black women concerning breast cancer.

Moments later, Guerdy revealed that she is in “remission” and has to get a checkup “every six months. She went on to mention how she’ll forever remember her health journey, thanks to her chemo scar.

“I hold this proudly,” Geurdy said as she held the small mark above her chest. “People are like, ‘Wait, you’re not gonna hide it with makeup,’ I’m not doing no f-cking makeup, this is my battle wound when I won.”

With Guerdy’s health in a much better place, the RHOM Wife is ready for the next chapter of her life. When speaking to BravoTV.com backstage before the reunion, she gave an update on her family and shared what she planned to do in her free time.

“[I want to] start dancing again,” she said. “I haven’t danced in so many years… So we’re going into our dancing mode again.”

When it was time for her to reveal the latest on her husband, Russell Abriara, and their sons, Miles and Liam, she said they were doing “a-OK” and joked that her hubby might forge a new profession. “Russell has become the fan favorite… So we’ll be managing his modeling career very soon.”
