Venita Aspen Weighs in on "Bra-Gate" & Shares Major Update About *This* Southern Charm Couple
The fashionista revealed if she thinks something happened when Olivia and Austen hung out to watch a movie.
Venita Aspen is a southern belle through and through, but she wasn't afraid to spill a little tea when she appeared on the November 30 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
The Southern Charm-er, who joined the cast full-time back in Season 8, has developed a close friendship with Olivia Flowers. Olivia's complicated dynamic with ex Austen Kroll has been a major talking point in Season 9 of the series, and castmates and viewers alike were perplexed when Olivia left her bra at Austen's house one night after the two watched a movie together.
As one of Olivia's close friends, Venita weighed in on the matter, which is now known as "Bra-Gate" on WWHL. She also shared new details about her relationship with her boyfriend, Manny.
Venita Aspen Shares Her Thoughts on Austen Kroll and Olivia Flowers' Bra-Gate Situation
In case you need a refresher, on Season 9, Episode 8, Austen said that "nothing happened" when Olivia came over to his house and left her bra behind. He said that Olivia simply left the undergarment at his house because she wanted to get more comfortable while they watched a movie.
During the "It's All About to Go South" panel at BravoCon 2023, Olivia made light of the situation.
"Had I known it was gonna have such a statement on the episode, I would have picked something cuter," she said about the bra. "But, I just was getting comfortable!"
She also noted that she did "regret it," because it was a "bonehead move."
Fast forward a few weeks to Venita's appearance on WWHL, and the Charleston resident shared why she believes the story.
"No, nothing happened between the two of them," Venita said. "She would never. She's smart."
Venita Aspen Reveals If She's Ready to Get Engaged to Her Boyfriend, Manny
The fashion influencer introduced Southern Charm viewers to her boyfriend, Manny, on Season 9 of the series. Venita started dating the musician after Season 8 wrapped, but the two have known one another for quite some time.
During the After Show, which you can check out at the top of this post, a fan asked Venita for an update on her relationship.
"It's been five years of friendship [and] a year-and-a-half of dating," Venita said. "We've talked about the engagement, but I'm a stickler and very Type A, so I want it to look a certain kind of way, and he's like, 'Oh, we can get engaged tomorrow and I'm like, 'No, plan it!'"
Venita may want a particular kind of proposal, but she has no questions about her boyfriend being the one.
"But, the plan is that [he] is my forever, so [I'm] keeping my fingers crossed," she added.
Venita noted that, during their friendship, Manny saw her go through some challenging times.
"We were friends for a really long time. He saw me in moments that I wouldn't want to put anywhere else. He saw me through that, and he was like, 'That's still the girl I decide to be with,'" she concluded. "It makes my heart warm."
