Viewers got a look at The Inns Clubhouse in Southern Charm Season 9 Episode 7 when JT hosted an intimate get-together for his castmates. JT teased the venue during a phone call with his mom, an interior decorator who helped put the clubhouse together.
“I gotta tell you, the event space, it’s pretty much done, and what an incredible mommy-son project,” he said. “Couldn’t have done it without you.”
He expanded on the partnership in an episode interview, saying his mother played a big role in his real estate career.
“My mom’s a top interior designer in the D.C. area. She renovates properties,” he explained. “She showed me the ropes, and now I invest in real estate, I develop real estate, I renovate real estate.”

Jarrett "JT" Thomas says he isn't a "trust-fund guy"
JT said he spent years working in finance and eventually built enough wealth to start buying properties. He also made it clear that he didn’t receive any monetary handouts, but got a lot of support from his parents and loved ones.
The Southern Charm-er specifically recalled being in his early 20s and having only $100 in his checking account while he worked at a bank branch. He said he would be in the office from “7 in the morning to 11 at night, Sunday through Monda,y” making cold calls and taking meetings.
“Finally I just made it in finance and built a pretty unbelievable wealth management practice that I was very proud of,” he continued. “I’m not a trust-fund guy. I wish to a certain extent I was because it would’ve made my life a lot easier. At the same time, I feel like not having a trust fund and starting from scratch out of college, it kept me from getting robbed of the feeling of doing it myself and having that confidence that comes from being hardworking.”
