Kari Wells: My Life After 'Married to Medicine'
The Season 1 star also has some harsh words to Mariah Huq.
On the first season of Married to Medicine, fans got to know Kari Wells as the British-born ex-model who became a loving mother, devoted wife, and savvy businesswoman and philanthropist.
She's left the show for Season 2, but she made a return on last week's episode as a guest of Dr. Heavenly Kimes to Mariah Huq's house party. Needless to say, Mariah wasn't happy to see her and was heard shouting, "Who the hell invited Kari Wells?"
Since her departure, we checked in with Kari to find out what she's up to these days—and how she felt about Mariah's harsh words for her.
What’s your take on the party? Were you shocked by Mariah's response?
It was nice to be invited by Dr. Heavenly to her party. I have known Heavenly for a couple of years and last year I was a guest on her radio show, when we really hit it off. Ever since, we have supported each others causes and read each others books. So when I arrived at the party and Mariah rudely states "Who the hell invited you," I was shocked beyond belief. I think Mariah finds it hard to believe that some people can have genuine friendships.
Mariah really needs a firm lesson in etiquette. When one is a guest at a party they need to behave and try not to act like the own the place by making other guest feel unwelcome. I could go on, but I think you get the point. At that particular time I was going through a very difficult time of my life with my mother's illness, so to have her continue to be so disgustingly rude and mean to me was just appalling. I did not want to continue to engage her as I had some real life issues to face. I think she has once again proven what the “B” stands for and that female dog is no Queen.

What has changed in your life since Season 1?
I am really enjoying this stage of my life. I am super busy as always with my work and home life. I still have a hectic travel schedule and I am happy to still be working with the girl's mentorship program "Girl Power and Emerging Women,” of which I serve on the board. I also have various speaking engagements and charity events that I am working with, so I have little down time.
What has changed in your career? Are you still working at your husband's orthopedic practice as a CFO?
Yes, the practice is doing really well. We finally finished the re model of the lobby and the first floor of our building and we are currently working on the 2nd floor.
How are your children these days? Any fun facts or accomplishments you’d like to share about them?
The kids are doing great at school and are becoming excellent skiers. We are currently in Aspen having a lovely spring break. This summer I am taking the on a tour of Europe for a month to give them a little history lesson. They are finally at the age where they can pull their own hand luggage and wonderful travel companions. Such a milestone!
