GG Says She Doesn't Believe MJ Was Sincere While Comforting Her at the Music Festival
"I know how MJ operates," Golnesa "GG" Gharachedaghi said on Watch What Happens Live.
This season of Shahs of Sunset seemed to be a real turning point in the relationship between Golnesa "GG" Gharachedaghi and Mercedes "MJ" Javid. After experiencing their share of ups and downs over the years, the Shahs of Sunset ladies really bonded over motherhood following GG's ectopic pregnancy.
Never was that more apparent than when MJ comforted GG as she fell ill during the group's outing to the Boots & Brews music festival earlier this season. However, GG still had a sneaking suspicion that this goodwill between her and MJ wouldn't last. "I guess MJ woke up on the right side of the bed this morning because she's so compassionate and caring and wants to be a big sister," GG said of MJ's kindness at the music festival. "But I know MJ, and tomorrow morning, she may not wake up on that same side."
GG still questions MJ's motives in that moment. "I do not think MJ was being sincere," GG said via video chat on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen: @ Home on April 24 (clip above). "I know how MJ operates."
After her fellow WWHL: @ Home guest, Mike Shouhed, could be seen shaking his head in disagreement with GG, she elaborated on her statement. "That's how her genius works, manipulation," GG explained. "She shows that side of herself and then as soon as you lower your guards, all of a sudden, like Mike said, those little, boom, jabs come out of nowhere, and you're like, oh god."
Mike then came to MJ's defense, saying that she was really caring for GG in that moment at the music festival. "You're thinking too deep into it. I think she was genuinely worried about you that day, but her tendencies are to throw her daggers," he shared on WWHL: @Home. "She gets it from her lineage, but she's not a bad person; she just does bad things once in a while."
GG and MJ shared another sweet moment when they embraced after GG opened up about her pregnancy struggles during their girls' night out with Destiney Rose and Sara Jeihooni. GG said in an interview during the episode that she saw herself and MJ as neither friends nor enemies moving forward. "MJ and I have had many years of a toxic friendship, but I'm a different person now, and I don't want MJ as an enemy, but I definitely don't want her as a friend," she shared. "So, the best thing, I've got to let her go."
But MJ expressed that she still has hope that she and GG can repair their relationship to the point where they are friends during her appearance on WWHL: @ Home on April 17.
"I think that we've hurt each other, and I think that each time one of us hurt the other person that we were not compassionate or aware that we were hurting each other. And I don't think that either Golnesa or me are good at expressing our feelings when we're hurt. So I do have a lot of prayer that I am going to have to be able to make amends in the future because we're both moms," MJ, who welcomed her son, Shams, last April said while referring to GG welcoming her first child this spring. "We've had a lot of really good times, and we had a lot of full, all-year-round trips that the two of us took together, so I'd like to mend fences. And because I do believe that since my father passed and since I got pregnant and became a mother all at the same time, I'm different and I hear that she's different. We deserve not to let our story end that way."
