RHOP Season 5 Features an Explosive Moment Between Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard Bassett
The Real Housewives of Potomac ladies grabbed headlines following an alleged incident between the two last fall.
Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard Bassett took the first steps to get their friendship back on track as they shared a tear-filled embrace at The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 4 reunion. However, it appears that any goodwill they built up in that moment is about to come crashing down when RHOP returns for Season 5 this summer.
The trailer for the new season of RHOP, which you can view above, teases a huge heated confrontation between Monique and Candiace. It even looks like their blowup will rock the entire group.
"We never thought as black women we would be right here, but we are," Gizelle Bryant says of the moment in the clip. "We have been able to hold ourselves above the stereotype, and in five minutes, she took it away."
Karen Huger adds, "It's not something you can brush under the rug, but you've got to address this."
Gizelle then appears to tell Monique, with whom she already has a tenuous relationship, "I by no means want to be near you."
Monique says at the end of the trailer, "Then maybe I don't need to be a part of this anymore."
Monique and Candiace grabbed headlines last fall when they were both charged with second-degree assault after each filed a complaint against the other following an alleged incident on October 16. The charges against both Monique and Candiace were later dropped.
