Teddi Mellencamp Expands on the Dog Drama Backstory

For those keeping score at home, we finally found out why Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave didn't seem to completely own up to her role in the drama surrounding the dog Dorit Kemsley and her family adopted from the Vanderpump Dog Center during Tuesday night's episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Teddi explained that she initially held back because the original story she was told about the dog was "so bad," she wanted to protect Dorit. However, the information Teddi said she was told about how Dorit treated the dog as well as the pup being left at a kill shelter ended up not being true.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on Bravo Tuesdays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo App.

And for those who thought Teddi wasn't taking total accountability for her actions during the girls' trip to the Bahamas earlier this season, well, Teddi also had an explanation for that during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Tuesday night (clip above). "Well, I was a little cagey in the Bahamas because the original story I was told about the dog was gnarly," she shared. "And so my response was gnarly because I was told a very different story that ends up not being the truth."

Teddi went on to say that everything "spiraled" out of control after she received a call from Vanderpump Dogs employee John Blizzard telling her that Dorit wasn't calling Lisa Vanderpump back, so she was going to text her that "Teddi knows" about the dog situation.

Teddi came clean to Dorit about her role in the dog drama and apologized for her actions in Tuesday night's episode of RHOBH. The ladies then shared a sweet moment when they hugged each other, signaling that they have put all of this behind them. "Teddi was caught in a lie, but at least she's taking ownership of that," Dorit said during the episode. "So now, I really hope that Lisa Vanderpump can just admit her part in all of this and we can just finally put it behind us. You've gotta own up!"

Given Teddi and Dorit's contentious history, some RHOBH fans may have been surprised to see them make up so quickly — but not Teddi. "I think she knew it was the truth," she said on WWHL. "And it's even a worse feeling when you know it's the truth and it sucks."

Teddi continued to show remorse for how everything went down in her latest blog on Bravotv.com. "My apology to Dorit is sincere. I’m sorry that it all happened the way it did, and if I could go back, I would have just shown all of the texts in the Bahamas. Of course, I asked to have the dog there [during the visit to the Vanderpump Dog Center]," she wrote. "When making a plan to bring a story up, I wasn’t just going to do it out of thin air. I was open with all the women before then that I was involved in some way, which is why it was so easy for Dorit (and the rest) to be understanding and forgiving."

The RHOBH squad will be feeling the heat for a different reason in an all-new episode coming up on Tuesday at 9/8c. Check out a sneak peek, below.
