Everything to Know About Karen Huger’s La’ Dame Line — Including a Possible 5-Wick
The Grande Dame talked about the future of her candle business at BravoCon.
The Grande Dame of Potomac is kicking her business up a notch, and at BravoCon 2023 in Las Vegas on Nov. 4, she promised an expanded product line for fans shopping for holiday gifts this year.
“You know the four-wick is out — it is not here today, but I have you all ready to go,” Karen Huger of The Real Housewives of Potomac said to fans at “The Sharp-Witted” live interview panel.
Karen first started her namesake business back in 2018 by creating her own fragrance, which has since expanded to oils and candles.
Can we expect a five-wick candle in the future? Before we look ahead, here’s a look back at La’ Dame’s history.
What are Karen's plans for La'Dame?
“To whom much is given, much is expected, so I’ve done four-wicks [candles] — I’ll let you know if I’m going to do five,” Karen said to a fan at BravoCon 2023.
The Golden Hour 4 Wick Bohemian Fire Limited Addition Candle is available to buy right now on the La’ Dame website. It boasts “90 hours of luxurious, sensual burning time,” and its “alluring scent” makes “memories come alive” to create a “royal relaxation oasis,” according to its product description.
But that’s not the only kind of product planned.
Karen told Bravo back in April 2022 “La’ Dame is growing,” and added lashes were coming to her line.
“I love a good pair of lashes,” she told Bravo. "I think women feel that we have to have full-fledged makeup on every day. We don't. If you have lip gloss and lashes, you're done for the day. The lashes wake up your eyes. That's the window to your soul."
Right now on the “La’ Dame Fragrance” website, four and three-wick candles, rollerball oil, and an aroma gift set (including perfume) are available to buy, but no word yet on when lashes might be available.
How did Karen's La' Dame Fragrance line begin?
RHOP viewers know Karen dreamt of her own fragrance for years, and in true Grande Dame fashion, she finally revealed La’ Dame Fragrance was on the way with a billboard in New York’s Times Square in July 2018.
The perfume, described as “both subtle and bold, sophisticated and joyous,” hit shelves by Dec. 2018.
Karen made more moves to launch her brand and signature fragrance by appearing on HSN in Dec. 2019. The fragrance was then picked up by Bloomingdales.com in Oct. 2020, after being carried at pop-up events and in the La’Dame online store.

The beauty line also expanded to wigs, with a La’Dame x RPGShow bold and sexy hair collaboration.
Fans of RHOP then witnessed firsthand the Grande Dame’s leap into candles during Season 6 in 2021.
On the August 29 episode, Karen announced the three-wick candle. This set up dueling candle lines with castmate Wendy Osefo, who also launched a candle as part of her Onyi Home Essentials Company, even though Karen didn’t believe the products were the same.
“The La’Dame candle is a three-wick candle, and hers is a one-wick candle,” Karen explained during RHOP. “So, mine can cover the area of a larger space, if you will.”
Karen also appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and educated Andy on why three-wick candles are better than one.
“La’Dame lights the way so you don’t bump into walls in the middle of the night,” she said, adding her candle “brings the shade,” “doesn’t do small gatherings,” and “covers up any funky situation.”
Of course, Wendy decided to up her game during the candle wars, announcing four-wick, five-wick, and even seven-wick limited-edition “Zen Wen” candles back in Nov. 2021 on the company’s Instagram page. The four-wick “Zen Wen” is still available to buy on the Onyi Home Essentials website.
Still, Karen continues to surprise us with her candle line. We look forward to what's next!
