Lisa Vanderpump Demonstrates How to Make a Perfect Cup of Tea
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills restaurateur Lisa Vanderpump says that "Americans tend to falter" when making tea.
Lisa Vanderpump presides over a cocktail empire, but don't discount her savvy when it comes to making a nice, nonalcoholic beverage as well. After all, the restaurant owner is about "as English as they come," and that means making the perfect cup of tea is basically in her blood. How exactly does she make the best-ever cuppa, you ask?
In a recent Instagram post, the restaurateur announced: "In England, we love a good cup of tea. Sometimes, Americans falter in that department. So I'm going to show you how to make the perfect cup of tea." First of all, a "beautiful teacup" is in order, so say adieu to your dingy mug.
Got your saucer and prim cup ready? Here's what comes next: Turn the kettle on. Then, use a dash of British humor to impress your guests. "Ken says I can't turn anything on, but I can definitely turn the kettle on," our tea guru quipped.
Next, grab your tea of choice. Though Lisa loves the loose-leaf variety, she admits that "it's more of a hassle" to use, and tends to go for PG Tips in bags. Pour boiling water — it must be boiling! — over the teabag and let it steep. Then, add a dash of two-percent cold milk — it must be cold! — into the tea.
"A cup of tea is like a drug in England, it's supposed to make everything better," Lisa concluded. Keep scrolling to study up on how to make it just right.
