Charrisse Jackson-Jordan Shares a Heartfelt Confession: "I Spent Years Hating My Lips"

It's pretty safe to say that our culture today has become obsessed with the appearance of fuller lips. Whether it's through cosmetic enhancements, wacky (and dangerous) at-home hacks, plumping lip products, or makeup tricks, many people find themselves trying to achieve the "perfect" plumped-up pout a la Kylie Jenner. And sure, this look is highly sought-after now, but this wasn't always the case — just ask Charrisse Jackson-Jordan.

The Real Housewives of Potomac alum is blessed with naturally full, luscious lips. But in a recent and very raw Instagram post, Charrisse recalled a time where her lips where anything but idolized and appreciated. 

"I spent years hating my lips. I was teased for years. I prayed to God to make them 'normal' and vowed as soon as I could afford it I would have them reduced," she wrote. 

Charrisse did not end up altering her lips and instead worked through her insecurities, ultimately learning to appreciate and embrace her natural features. She continued, "Now those same people that teased me are trying to duplicate the fullness. Love YOU... Each of us are uniquely designed the way we were intended to be. As they say #lovetheskinyourin #loveyourself #hatersgonnahate #thankyougod."
