Stassi Schroeder Shows How New Orleans Is Inspiring Her New House's Design
The Vanderpump Rules author is going back to her southern roots via interior design.
One thing Stassi Schroeder knew for sure when she was house hunting? She did not want something new. “My dream house — well, first it would be nice if it was a haunted house, so there’s that — but ideally if it was an old white Spanish-style house, with really dark hardwood floors and just like so much character and charm,” she told BravoTV.com recently. “I want to just be able to feel like I’m in Europe, or like an old movie star used to live there and throw really fabulous parties.”
Well, Stassi got her wish in the form of a $1.7 million Mediterranean style home… that needs a lot of work! “Once we got it, we were like, ‘Oh shoot, we have to renovate it.’ Because we wanted an older home and we wanted to make it our own,” she explained. Though Stassi is now on her podcast tour, she’s still checking in on the work being done to her new home, and she recently shared the new stair railings that had been installed, lining the home’s giant curving staircase.
“Meanwhile, custom railings are installed back at home. French Quarter vibes,” she captioned a video showcasing the new feature.
And she’s right! The wrought iron railings are definitely reminiscent of the one of New Orleans’ signature architecture details—lacy iron-railed balconies. Like the ones overlooking Bourbon Street, Stassi’s are stately and traditional and perfectly accent her glossy, black-hued window trims.
