Blanca Blanco found that out the hard way when she took to the red carpet at the Oscars on Sunday night. The slit in the actress' yellow gown with a golden print revealed more than just her thigh, seeming to give attendees a bit of a peek at her undies underneath. Good thing she didn't go commando!

Naturally, Blanca turned heads and grabbed headlines for her daring look, which also included a cinched waist with a gold belt and a swirly statement ring. But we'll have to wait and see if more people will be talking about her wardrobe malfunction or her crazy, big, puffy sleeves come Monday morning.
Update 2/27/17, 4:47 p.m.: Blanca spoke exclusively to DailyMail.com on Monday about her red carpet reveal, and she did not sound happy about all of the attention her look has received. "I didn't think 'I'm going to expose myself at the Oscars,' that was not the idea," she said. "It was not a strategy or anything."
The actress, who attended the ceremony with longtime boyfriend, actor John Savage, added, "The Oscars is very important event and it is my dream to someday be there as a nominee and I respect the Oscars. I would not think of just going naked."
Though some outlets reported that Blanca's sky-high slit exposed her lady parts, she confirmed to DailyMail.com that she was, in fact, wearing underwear. "I had a bodysuit on, it as like a swimsuit, for some reason the pictures are looking like I have nothing," she said. "It was a nude color, it matches my skin, so I wasn't naked."
Blanca said that she was hoping to impress with her gown, which she designed herself, not cause all of this controversy. But she now might think twice about that slit. "I think maybe I wouldn't have had the split as high," she said.
