Malia White Is Back on Below Deck Mediterranean in a New Position

There's a new bosun in town in Season 5 of Below Deck Mediterranean, but we can confirm that she already knows her way around a yacht.

Below Deck Med veteran Malia White will be back as bosun in the upcoming Season 5, which premieres Monday, June 1 at 9/8c. Malia has climbed up the ranks since last working for Captain Sandy Yawn, according to her bio on BravoTV.com. She even has her captain's license.

Malia is definitely ready to take on more responsibility this season, although her male deckhands might not be as prepared for this strong female leader. "You've got a female bosun, a female captain, a female chief stew," Malia says in the above trailer for the new season of Below Deck Med. "Respect that." 

Judging by the fact that one of her deckhands calls her a "sweetheart" in the sneak peek, it looks like Malia will have her work cut out for her with her crew.

It's not just the personnel who will be testing Malia in the new season of Below Deck Med. When emergencies and intense situations arise onboard, Malia and the rest of the crew will have to spring into action to protect the safety of everyone on the boat.

Below Deck Mediterranean Returns with New and Familiar Faces This Summer

We first met Malia in Season 2 of Below Deck Med where she served as a deckhand under bosun Wes Walton. She found herself in a bit of a love triangle that season with Wes and Adam Glick, even kissing both guys in the same night. 

As things started heating up between Malia and Wes, Adam expressed that he felt betrayed, especially since they had gotten to know each other prior to the charter season's start and he dreamed of spending time together in Santorini, Greece. Things even got physical between Adam and Wes during one of the crew's nights out.

Malia and Adam's romance may have fizzled out, but she and Wes would become steady and strong throughout the rest of the charter season. As they got ready to disembark the yacht at the end of Season 2, they decided to explore a relationship together on land.

Adam would go on to serve as chef in Season 3 of Below Deck Med. He returned to the galley in Season 1 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, currently airing Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo.

Malia joins fellow returning crew members Captain Sandy and Hannah Ferrier in Season 5 of Below Deck Med, in addition to newcomers Chef Hindrigo "Kiko" Lorran, stews Lara Flumiani and stew Jessica More, and deckhands Robert Westergaard, Pete Hunziker, and Alex Radcliffe.
