Here's the Top 10 Biggest News Stories that Came Out of BravoCon 2022

The New York City convention included major revelations about upcoming shows, cast relationships, and more.

By Talia Ergas

BravoCon is not just a big gathering where Bravolebs from various shows and franchises mix and mingle throughout a weekend of live events, panels, and appearances. OK, it is all that, but it's also a lot more. BravoCon 2022, which was held in New York City in October, attendees were the first to hear some major pieces of news including bombshell information on cast members, Bravolebrity relationship updates, new show announcements, and more.

The 2023 spectacular will take place from November 3 to November 5 in Las Vegas, with more than 160 Bravolebrities attending the larger-than-life, three-day weekend featuring over 60 live events. While we anxiously await the most hotly anticipated Bravoleb meetup, let's recap some of the biggest news we learned at last year's convention.

1. Naomie Olindo's then-"new man" had a Southern Charm connection

After sharing her relationships and breakups with Craig Conover and Metul Shah on Southern Charm (as well as a brief fling with Whitney Sudler-Smith), Naomie was more cagey about her "new man" in October 2022, when she was asked about her relationship status at BravoCon.

Shep Rose, however, was ready to spill the tea as he shared that he was quite familiar with Naomie's new love.  "[He's] a great, great, great human being — I've known him for a long time," Shep shared.

2. Riley Burruss shared an update on Todd Tucker's New Jersey condo

On Season 14 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, a condo that Todd owned in New Jersey was the center of controversy with his wife, Kandi Burruss. When Kandi, Todd, and Riley Burruss all shared the stage for a BravoCon panel, the New York City-area pad came up, and it caused another stir.

When asked if she’s been staying at the property, the New York University student responded, “No, I have my own apartment in Manhattan. I could not live that far.” Still, Riley noted, “I will be going there. Maybe I’ll throw a few parties there once it’s renovated.”

Todd couldn’t help but call Riley out for her comments, asking with a laugh, “Wait, wait, did she just shade where it’s located, like ‘all the way in Jersey,’ but she’s gonna throw parties there?”

3. Mama Joyce revealed where she and Todd Tucker stand today

Mama Joyce Reveals Where She and Todd Tucker Stand Right Now

The drama between Kandi's mother, Mama Joyce Jones, and her husband has been well-documented on RHOA, so, of course, fans were curious for an update on their relationship at BravoCon.

During an episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that was filmed at BravoCon, Mama Joyce addressed the current status of their relationship. "Him and I get along,” she said. “We’re getting along much better.”

4. Major details about Project Runway Season 20 were revealed

Big Stakes, All-Stars

At the "Project Runway of Their World" panel, Project Runway host/mentor Christian Siriano and judge Elaine Welteroth announced that the show's milestone 20th season would feature a big twist: It would be an All-Stars season featuring the most talented fashion designers from previous seasons. (Since then, Season 20 has aired and a winner has been chosen.)

5. Captain Lee Rosbach shared a regret about someone he fired

Below Deck's Captain Lee Rosbach has never shied away from making changes to the crew — even if that means booking a plane ticket home — but, as he revealed at BravoCon 2022, he does wish one alum had more time on the boat.

“Yeah, I really regretted having to fire [Andrew] Sturby,” the captain said. “Because he was such a sweet kid… He tried so hard, he just couldn’t close the deal.”

6. The new cast of The Real Housewives of New York City was revealed

Ubah Hassan, Sai De Silva, Erin Lichy, Brynn Whitfield, Jessel Taank and Jenna Lyons and Andy Cohen attend Bravo's "The Real Housewives Of New York City" Season 14 Premiere

Season 14 of The Real Housewives of New York City included a full cast shakeup — and, at BravoCon, fans were anxiously awaiting a cast reveal.

At the event, it was confirmed that Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan, Erin Lichy, Jenna Lyons, Jessel Taank, and Brynn Whitfield would be on the new season (Season 14 is currently airing). The ladies also happened to make a cameo during the WWHL episode and surprised fans by walking the stage.

7. Taylor Ann Green explained her new job

During Southern Charm Season 8, fans saw Taylor quit her job to travel the world with her then-boyfriend, Shep. When their relationship ultimately didn’t go the distance, however, she was seemingly left without a boyfriend — or a job.

Fast forward to BravoCon 2022 and Taylor revealed that she was “working again,” though not at the same job. Explaining that she was working in sales and marketing for a new company (which we've seen unfold on Season 9 of the show), she added that she still has “love” for her former job, boss, and coworkers and that she’d just run into them “the other day.”

8. Shep Rose said he would be "happy" if ex Taylor Ann Green “ended up” with Tom Schwartz

Shep Rose Says He Loves Taylor Ann Green "for Eternity"

Long before Shep had learned about Taylor's kiss with his pal Austen Kroll (and shortly before BravoCon 2022), Taylor revealed her crush on Vanderpump Rules' Tom Schwartz during an August 2022 Watch What Happens Live episode.

At BravoCon, Shep addressed the comments between the two Bravolebs. “I love Thomas Schwartz — that would make me happy if she ended up with Thomas Schwartz,” Shep noted when speaking to E! News at BravoCon. “My point is I’m not a jealous man. We had a great, great time. If she ends up with a very good guy that makes her happy, that would make me happy.”

10. Kyle Richards revealed who pays for private jets and parties on RHOBH

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is known for lavish parties, luxury vacations, expensive shopping excursions, and travel via private jets — and at BravoCon, Kyle Richards explained that she is constantly asked if production picks up the tab. “People always do ask about the planes and the parties and stuff, and they do think everything is paid by production — even other cast members from other shows ask about that,” Kyle shared during the "Iconic Vacations" panel. “We are actually paying for those things ourselves.”
