James Kennedy's friendship with Tom Sandoval came to an end as a result of what happened leading up to Sandoval's breakup from Ariana Madix. On the Season 11 premiere, which aired on January 30, James revealed whether he envisions himself becoming friends with Sandoval again.

James Kennedy Reveals Where He Stands with Tom Sandoval
After sharing an update on his relationship with Ally Lewber and highlighting their new home on the Season 11 premiere, James opened up about where he stands with Sandoval today.
"Obviously, my feelings are hurt," he said in an interview on the episode. "You know, I think I've said that enough times to relay the message to Tom — carrier pigeons have even told him, like, 'You know, remember your friend James? Well, his feelings are hurt ... and [you] also shut him out from the entire group.'"

Vanderpump Rules fans may recall that while James and Sandoval were indeed once friends, the two debated how close they really were during the Season 10 reunion, which aired in May 2023.
“We were like brothers?!” Sandoval said, referring to a comment Ariana made about how they shared a sibling-like relationship. “I talked to [him] once a month, dude.”
“You’ve been a big bro, dude,” James retorted.
James is clearly not in a good place with the Schwartz & Sandy's co-owner nowadays, but does he think there's a potential path forward for the two in their friendship?

While sitting down with Ally to talk about the possibility of hosting a pool party in their new backyard, James was asked a difficult question.
"Is there a world where you and Sandoval could ever be friends again?" Ally wondered.
"Friends? Friends? I haven't heard one f-cking word from that man," James said. "He's outrageous..."
