In a preview of the RHOP Season 8 finale, which you can check out at the top of this post, Mia and Gordon are initially all smiles as they address a room of partygoers and Mia's RHOP castmates, Gizelle BryantAshley DarbyCandiace Dillard BassettRobyn DixonKaren Huger, Dr. Wendy Osefo, and Nneka Ihim

Gordon, more specifically, leads a toast in honor of his then-wife. "I want to take the opportunity to thank everyone for coming to help celebrate this moment for my wife," he begins. "And I just want y'all to know that I am so proud of her. She is a role model, she is an absolutely wonderful mother, and a pretty darn good wife too. So, at this moment, I want you to join me in raising a toast. Cheers."

Flashbacks of Mia and Gordon's equally happy moments then appear on screen as part of the RHOP Season 8 finale preview, but the walk down memory lane is cut short when it's revealed that cameras picked back up three months after filming initially wrapped. 

The reason? Mia and Gordon's separation

A Recap of Mia Thornton's Divorce Announcement

In case you need a refresher, on September 29, 2023, Mia issued a statement to People revealing that she and Gordon had “separated” after over a decade of marriage.

"Like all marriages, ours has had its ups and downs," Mia said. "At this time, Gordon and I are separated, but my family is my number one priority, and I am committed to doing whatever it takes to make sure we are okay." 

Added Mia, "We ask that you respect our privacy and give us the time and space to figure things out."

Today, Mia is dating Incognito, a radio host based in Atlanta.
