The Daily Dish Summer House: Martha's Vineyard

Summer Thomas Accuses Alex Tyree of Lying About NYC Trip: “Didn’t Invite Person You’ve Been Inside Of”

Alex Tyree's guest list for a NYC event had a few notable omissions — and Summer Marie Thomas wasn't afraid to let him know how she felt about the snub.

The Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard cast is back together for Season 2, but it didn’t take long for things to get awkward.

How to Watch

Watch Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard on Peacock and the Bravo app.

A preview clip for the Season 2 premiere showed the group — alongside newbie Noelle Hughley — enjoying a crab and lobster dinner al fresco before the conversation turned to an event in New York City, arranged by Alex Tyree.

It was clear not everyone was lucky enough to score an invite, and let’s just say things took a turn from there.

Why was Summer Marie Thomas mad at Alex Tyree?

Summer Marie Thomas and Jordan Emanuel were left off the guest list, and it clearly didn’t sit well with Summer.

“You said you didn’t know I was in New York, but we had a FaceTime that morning,” she challenged Alex as the others looked on.

“She just wants to know why you didn’t invite her to the sh-t,” Nicholas “Nick” Arrington interjected.

An uncomfortable Alex briefly tried to explain, uttering, “I didn’t,” before Summer cut him off and launched into a deeper explanation of why she was upset.

Jasmine Ellis Cooper Welcomes Her First Child with Husband Silas Cooper: "Welcome Home"

Here's Where the Summer House: Martha's Vineyard Cast's Relationships Stand in Season 2

“Because your reasoning was, ‘I didn’t know you were in New York,’ but that’s a lie because you saw me in Jordan’s f-cking apartment that morning,” she said. “You’re not being very honest and that’s the issue.”

As the tension at the table grew, Amir Lancaster made a half-hearted attempt to diffuse the situation with minimal results.

“Can you then tell him what the answer you want is because he’s telling you his truth and you’re not accepting it,” Amir said.

“She feels he’s lying,” Jasmine Ellis Cooper replied, before asking, “So, how are y’all gonna move forward?”

Summer clearly didn’t believe Alex’s explanation for the snub, which she made all too clear with a comment hinting at her deeper relationship with the musician that quickly left the whole table stunned.

“Because how can you do a Zoom call with people, but I don’t see who I’m on the f-cking call with, like that doesn’t make sense,” an angry Summer continued. “Just say you didn’t want us to go. You didn’t invite the person who does live in New York, you didn’t invite the person you’ve been inside of, that’s a f-cking problem.”

The clip ends before any of the shocked castmates can reply.

What To Expect on Season 2 of Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard

Bravo’s Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard focuses on ten young Black professionals and entrepreneurs as they head to the historic island of Martha’s Vineyard for a summer of fun at a large vacation rental.

“As they band together to escape their worries, discover the beauty of this exclusive enclave and have an epic summer, it becomes clear that some of their friendships are fractured while others are in full bloom,” the press release for the new season teased.

Noelle, a friend of Summer’s, is new to the group this year and from the looks of it, she’s one single lady who is not quite sure what she signed up for.

“These bitches is crazy,” she confessed in the preview clip. “Sh-t’s poppin’ up. It kind of makes me feel like ‘OK, what’s next?’”

To stay up on all the Season 2 drama, tune in to Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard, premiering Sunday, March 24 at 9/8c or available streaming the next day on Peacock.
