Teresa & Gabriella Giudice Are Keeping Nonno's Memory Alive in the Kitchen
The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member, who recently lost her father, is whipping up classic Italian dishes in his honor.
Just a few weeks after her father passed away, Teresa Giudice is keeping his memory alive in the kitchen. Giacinto Gorga liked to cook, and The Real Housewives of New Jersey fans often saw "Nonno" manning the stove in the family kitchen. From early-morning octopus to holiday seafood spreads and pasta, Nonno had plenty of classic Italian recipes up his sleeve. In fact, when Melissa Gorga posted an emotional tribute to Nonno after his passing, she wrote: "Thank you for teaching me how to cook everything I make." But it seems that one dish in particular makes Teresa think of her dad.
In a recent Instagram Story, the New Jersey mother shared a photo of steak pizzaiola bubbling away on her stovetop. For the uninitiated, the dish tops steak with fresh tomato sauce —and there's a recipe in Teresa's book Skinny Italian called "Papa's Steak Pizzaiola."
The cookbook author tagged her daughter Gabriella in her recent post, which leads us to believe that Teresa had a little help making the cozy Italian dish. She also added a hashtag for Nonno.
Teresa's friend, RHONJ OG Dina Manzo, also recently lost her dad. Dina, too, has been honoring her pops in the kitchen. She recently cooked her dad's "special Christmas olive sauce." Posting a photo of the dish on Instagram, Dina wrote: "For you daddy. I hope I made it like you did."
