This Is the First Thing Tom Colicchio Does Every Morning at 6 AM: “Makes Me So Happy”
Bravo's Top Chef judge Tom Colicchio enjoys an idyllic domestic ritual.
Bravo's Top Chef head judge Tom Colicchio and his wife Lori Silverbush, a filmmaker (with powerful talent as a writer), gave fans a glimpse inside their daily lives when they opened up their home to Wine Spectator following an extensive remodel.
The couple moved their family from a rental in NYC's West Village to a Brooklyn brownstone in 2016, hoping to raise their kids surrounded by more diversity than they thought was possible in Manhattan.
In Brooklyn, they also found the kind of land rarely associated with Manhattan real estate that allows Tom to start each day with a truly idyllic ritual: gardening.
“I get up in the morning at 6," he told Wine Spectator. "I’m out in the garden for two hours and then my day starts, and it’s just a much better day. It makes me so happy.”
And Tom approaches his gardening with an appreciation for nature and its mysteries. “I don’t know exactly what they’re going to grow into,” he said. “You just have to let them grow.”
