James Kennedy Shows His Renovation “Project” in His New House: “Doing It All Myself”
The Vanderpump Rules DJ is rolling up his sleeves to transform a room in his home, and it’s looking great so far!
Let’s raise our glasses high to James Kennedy, aka the new homeowner. “I’ve been renting apartments in Los Angeles, like, literally for 12 or 13 years,” James said on Peacock’s Pumped Up edition of Vanderpump Rules: Secrets Revealed. But he’s a renter no more! “Finally, James Kennedy has bought a house,” he shared.
In the episode, James revealed that his new property is “in the Valley” and affirmed that it’s a “really cute” abode. “It’s a three-bedroom, like, little gray home,” he said. “It’s got a pool in the back. It’s got a dream studio.” And now, the DJ is about to make that studio even dreamier.
James is building a soundproof studio at home
In a recent Instagram Story, James let his followers in on his big home “project.”
“I’m putting the new floor in my studio right now,” he said, spanning over a space with a sliding glass door that leads to his pool deck. “So [the] idea is to soundproof this. The neighbors are gonna hate me,” James continued, presumably referring to what would happen sans soundproofing. Then, indicating the back of the space, he announced: “Painting that wall.”
To recap: James is getting ready to add a new floor, paint, and soundproofing to his studio. He even gave a close-up look at the new flooring — and provided some highly technical details.
“The floor is just this stuff I got from Amazon,” he shared, showing a piece of the light flooring. “Pretty cool. It’s like foam. Sound-absorbing, you know? This place is gonna be fully soundproof by the time I’m done with it.”
In his caption, James confirmed that he is his own contractor. “Doing it all myself,” he proudly wrote. Later, he came back to show off his progress. The wall had a fresh coat of black paint, and the new floor was in effect.
In his caption, the homeowner wrote: “Did the floor and painted the wall. Still got lots to do.” He added: “The floor came out super clean [though] I love it!” Check out the before-and-after photos, below.
James’ Pool and Backyard
While the inside of the patio looks fresh and clean, James has a little dilemma in his outside space. Showing a plethora of things to store on his patio — including an office chair, a yoga mat, and some brightly printed artwork, James said: “I have to figure out where I’m gonna put all this stuff.”
However, the outdoor space isn’t all stuff to be stored. The musical whiz recently shared a look at his yard, and it’s totally idyllic. It has a beautiful pool surrounded by grass, flowers, and trees, and James is tending to it with care.
He recently told BravoTV.com that he takes a great deal of pride in the outdoor area. “I love my garden,” he said. “I’m in very much, like, dad mode. Not dad mode, but you know what I mean? I’ve got a house now. Very grown up!”
