During the first season of Below Deck Mediterranean, there was a bit of a mixup when chief stew Hannah Ferrier and Chef Ben Robinson had a miscommunication over the starters and main plates during a dinner service. Apparently assuming that the meal would be a full dinner rather than two courses, Hannah accidentally brought the mains out as a starter. One of the guests actually decided to send a nearly full appetizer plate back in fear of filling up before dinner. 

Below Deck Mediterranean: Season 1, Episode 6

Chef Kevin Dobson made a plating miscalculation that sparked a Twitter fight between him and Captain Lee Rosbach. While cooking banana leaf-wrapped mahi mahi, Kevin prepared seven portions, but thought that there were eight. He taste-tested a serving of fish, which meant there wasn’t enough for Captain Lee to have any. 

“In my head, I thought I had eight, so I test tried one of them,” Kevin explained. Captain Lee took to Twitter to say that he hates when people make excuses. Yikes. 

Below Deck: Season 7, Episode 4

Due to some very strong wind, the boat ended up sailing on a pretty extreme tilt. Despite the conditions, the guests still wanted to eat breakfast, and Chef Adam Glick was not having it. He asked Captain Glenn Shephard to stop sailing, but was totally shut down when Captain Glenn refused because he felt that the wind conditions were perfect for sailing. 

Below Deck Sailing Yacht: Season 1, Episode 4

Although a number of guests listed “no onions” on their preference sheets, Chef Adam ignored the requests, and decided to create a lunch filled with the vegetable anyway. When the guest gave the plate back to Hannah, Adam took his anger out on her, and said that the “chef knows best.” 

Below Deck Mediterranean: Season 2, Episode 7

When a hypnotist and his green juice-obsessed friends joined the charter, the crew was not prepared to handle their extremely specific requests. Besides the fact that everyone tried to get out of making juice, there simply weren’t enough ingredients to produce enough of the green drink. The dilemma eventually lead to an argument between Chief Stew Adrienne Gang and steward Sam Orme, who took a whopping two hours to create two glasses of juice because they couldn’t stop arguing. 

Below Deck: Season 1, Episode 2

From his refusal to wear a chef coat to his penchant for beef cheeks, there were plenty of reasons that Chef Leon Walker and Kate Chastain did not see eye to eye. Their ongoing disagreements came to a head during a charter where the guests requested an elaborate menu, and the two exchanged some heated words as a result.

Below Deck: Season 3, Episode 7

Chef Mila Kolomeitseva pulled a few risky moves in the galley, like making pancakes from a box of Aunt Jemima mix and sending out some extremely questionable nachos. But the move that undoubtedly raised the most eyebrows was when she stuck a pile of steak in the microwave.
