Here’s What Danielle Olivera “Would Have Changed” About Carl & Lindsay’s Engagement Party
The Summer House cast member revealed a regret she has about Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard’s celebration — but it’s not what you might think.
While the Summer House crew said farewell to the Hamptons on the Season 7 finale on May 22, they definitely didn’t leave all the drama behind.
Danielle Olivera and Lindsay Hubbard faced a difficult season in their friendship after Lindsay claimed Danielle had been saying negative things about her relationship with Carl Radke all summer. Then, after Danielle expressed her disappointment about feeling left out of Carl’s engagement plans, she elaborated on that letdown to the couple’s family and friends at the engagement party. Danielle’s sentiments got back to Lindsay, who conveyed her irritation to Danielle in a difficult season finale conversation that led many to believe their longtime friendship was over for good.
When the two former BFFs sat down for the Season 7 reunion, host Andy Cohen made an attempt to mend fences between the two, asking Danielle about her ostensibly distressed demeanor at the engagement party.
What Would Danielle Change About Her Reaction to Carl & Lindsay’s Engagement?
“Watching the engagement party back, is there anything you would change about your behavior?” Andy asked the fashion app developer.
“I would have changed my outfit,” Danielle responded, referencing the more casual white one-shoulder crop top, jeans, and cream-colored blazer she wore for the occasion.
As Summer House viewers may remember, on Season 7 Episode 13, when Danielle found out the group would be heading to Carl and Lindsay’s celebration, she declared, “I was about to, like, show up in dungarees to, I guess, a f-cking engagement party.” Looking perplexed, Paige DeSorbo asked, “What’s a dungaree?” When Samantha Feher said, “Jeans,” Paige quipped, “For the British?”
While Danielle may regret her outfit choice, Lindsay defended her own engagement night look on Part 1 of the reunion.
After Paige speculated that Lindsay knew the proposal was coming because she “wore shoulder pads to the beach,” Lindsay explained the thought process behind her look.
“[I thought we were going to] a bonfire… that all of us were going,” Lindsay shared. “I went around the whole house and I was like, ‘What kind of bonfire are we doing, girls? Are we gonna do jeans and a T-shirt? Are we going, like, elevated?’ And everyone was like, ‘Elevated!’” she explained. “And so I was like, OK, I have one dress that’s elevated.”
During the reunion episode, Danielle added a few more things she would have liked to take back about the night of the party.
“I would have changed the amount of drinking I had done, I would have changed the amount of people I would have talked to there… maybe three less people?” she said. “I would have probably [talked to] one person.”
Danielle went on to defend her “real” reaction to the proposal: “It was not malicious why I was asking those questions. It was because I was beside myself and I was hurt.”
“In my mind, I would have loved to have been the person to organize a lot of it,” she shared. “I would have liked to [have been involved] in any way, shape, or form.”
How Did Lindsay and Danielle Leave Things at the Reunion?
After sorting out the details of her reaction, Danielle issued somewhat of a concession, further explaining her behavior to Lindsay.
“Lindsay, in a million years I would not want you to think I was making your engagement party about me,” Danielle stated.
“Yeah, but that’s what happened, Danielle!” Lindsay shot back.
After taking in that comment, Danielle noted that she was actually “super apologetic” and wanted Lindsay and Carl to have “the happiest engagement of all time.”
She added: “I don’t want you to think that I never wanted to be in support of you guys. You know that I would only want your happiness. Would I want to blow fireworks that I sourced myself? Absolutely.”
“Will you accept that apology?” Andy pressed Lindsay.
“I will accept that apology,” Lindsay conceded, giving us hope for a potential bridge between the two former besties.
