Mauricio Umansky's decision to leave Rick Hilton's real estate brokerage, Hilton & Hyland, to form The Agency in 2011 has once again become a hot topic, and now, Kyle Richards and Kathy Hilton are weighing in with their perspectives.

Kathy sat down with The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast for Part 3 of the Season 13 reunion, and as the group discussed Kyle and Kathy's relationship, host Andy Cohen commented on how Mauricio's business decision many years ago affected their family dynamic.

"Kathy, it's no secret that Mauricio starting The Agency created tension between your families," Andy said. "[Mauricio] even wrote in his book regarding Rick's company that 'If they paid me what I deserved and showed me an inkling of professional love,' he 'would've stayed,' but 'they didn't see it that way.' Those are all quotes."

Kathy shared her point of view on the situation. "When [Mauricio] left, he did call on a Thursday, and Rick said... 'When are you planning on leaving?' and [Mauricio] said, 'On Friday,'" Kathy told Andy. "[Rick] said, 'You're family. Just know opening your own business is tough. The door is always open for you. Just don't poach on my staff or my agents.'"

Andy asked if Mauricio hired those staff members, to which Kathy responded, "A few."

"That put Kyle and I in a kind of a funky —" Kathy continued before Andy interjected, "And you and [Mauricio] in a bad spot, I would think."

Later in the episode, Kathy hinted at where she stands with Mauricio today amid his separation from Kyle. "Even though you go through things with people, he's my family. He's my nieces' father," she said.

In the earlier conversation about Mauricio's business move, Kyle jumped in to defend his decision to hire staff members from Hilton & Hyland. Mauricio "had people that were under him in the Umansky group at Hilton & Hyland," Kyle clarified. "So he had built his group within Hilton & Hyland."

"I don't want to talk about business stuff," she continued. "I'm gonna go back to two more things we went through hell through? I've been through enough."

Although Mauricio started The Agency more than a decade ago, the family drama is being discussed again after a new clip of Mauricio sharing details on why he "left" Hilton & Hyland has been making the rounds.

"So I think I got kind of f–cked by Hilton & Hyland," he said in the clip. "And when I say f-cked, you know, like, today I'm happy. But there [were] a hundred agents at Hilton & Hyland. They did a billion dollars for the first time a year. I was 19.6 percent of their production. I went to Rick and said, 'I'd really like equity, right, and to be a partner.' He went back, talked to Jeff [Hyland], he got back to me, and basically, I was told 'no.'

"Then I went home, I talked to Kyle, I go, 'This is really going to cause a lot of stress between you, your sister, and your family, and I don't want to do this move of leaving and starting a company if you're not comfortable,'" he continued. Mauricio added that Kyle was "100 percent supportive" of his choice to go out on his own.

Mauricio went on to call Hilton & Hyland "an amazing company," and concluded, "I would never be caught speaking poorly about them because I don't think poorly about them. I am Rick's brother-in-law, but unfortunately, it got sour because it really affected the family, Kyle more than anybody."

Paris Hilton had a message for Mauricio after seeing the clip on March 12. Kathy and Rick's daughter wrote in the comments section of Queens of Bravo's Instagram: “My father is a consummate gentleman and has always taken the higher road. He would never speak negatively about his family-especially in the press. Frankly we are all sick of him using the Hilton name every chance he gets to plug his lame show. It is enough already.”
