T-Shirt Designer, Podcast Host — All of Kristen Doute's Ventures in Her Business Empire

Kristen Doute will soon make her reality television return in The Valley, but that's not the only thing keeping the former server busy these days.

By Jill Sederstrom

Whether it’s designing trendy T-shirts or rehashing the latest drama on her podcast, Kristen Doute is one savvy businesswoman.

How to Watch

Watch The Valley on Peacock.

Kristen is making a return to Bravo this spring in the new series The Valley, which follows Kristen and fellow Vanderpump Rules alums Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright, along with some new faces, as the group tries their hand at adulting in suburbia.

What does Kristen Doute do now?

The Valley has no doubt kept the designer busy, but Kristen has already proved she’s a master at multi-tasking, effortlessly running multiple business ventures, including her T-shirt company James Mae and side hustle in the wine industry with Katie Maloney.

So, just how many business ventures is Kristen managing? Here are the details on everything that is keeping this Michigan native busy in Los Angeles:

What is Kristen Doute’s James Mae T-shirt line?

Kristen launched her own t-shirt line James Mae — the name is a nod to her nephew and niece — in 2014.

The James Mae T-shirt line has a unique vintage flair and  offers options for both men and women.

According to the company’s website, the designs are inspired by “the west coast, music, nostalgia” and “less is more kinda vibes.”

“You should feel great in these comfortable tees whether you’re rocking at a concert, hanging out, or having a relaxing night in with yourself,” the company’s bio reads.

Several designs even draw inspiration from her latest project, The Valley.

Fans may remember that Doute’s relaunch of the brand in 2018 was featured on Vanderpump Rules.

 What is Kristen Doute’s podcast?

When she isn’t designing T-shirts or launching her own wine line, Kristen can be found hosting her podcast, Sex, Love and What Else Matters with Kristen Doute, which was recently rebranded as Balancing Act with Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick.

She co-hosts the podcast with her boyfriend, Luke Broderick.

"We’re gathered here today to get through this thing called life! Kristen and Luke know we’re all out here doing our best to balance life, love, work, play, family, friends, downfalls, and dreams. Life is full of ups and downs, and adulting can be hard. Kristen and Luke are still here to get REAL from both the female and male perspective, from very different walks of life.. unfiltered and vulnerable," the podcast description promises.

The podcast, which was launched in November 2022, now has more than 90 episodes.

What is Kristen Doute’s book called?

It’s no secret Kristen has been through her share of relationship heartache. She decided to share what she’s learned in the book, He's Making You Crazy: How to Get the Guy, Get Even and Get Over It.

The autobiographical tale, co-authored by Michele Alexander who memorably wrote the book How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, hysterically follows the “ups and downs” of Kristen’s dating history.

He's Making You Crazy will hold your hand through deep self-reflection—while giving you that push to put on your detective's hat and hack your man's email account if you need to,” the publisher’s blurb promises. “From trapping your boyfriend in ridiculous lies to gathering all your crush's security question answers on the first date, Kristen shares her no-holds-barred, hysterically funny and hard-earned advice on men, love, and modern dating.”

Doute told PEOPLE the book, which was released in 2020, was “hands down the most rewarding and therapeutic thing I’ve ever done.”

“I was really forced to sit down and dissect all of these relationships and kind of figure out 'what did I get out of each thing' as we went along with these stories. What did I gain positively and sort of bring on negatively into my life that I brought into the next relationship?" she explained.

Can you still buy Witches of Weho Wine?

Yes, you can!

Once known by the nickname the Witches of Weho, Kristen and her then-besties Katie Maloney and Stassi Schroeder promised their fans an intoxicating brew with the introduction of Witches of Weho wine.

The line was eventually discontinued after a series of setbacks.

But it looks like the wine is back — this time without Stassi.

Through a partnership with Nocking Point Wines, Katie and Kristen recently brought back Basic Witch “Potion No. 1” Pinot Grigio.

“Spring is Pinot Grigio season and this one stands above the rest with its secret ingredient: The tears of your exes!” a description reads.

The wine is available for purchase online.

What is The Valley?

Kristen will also soon add reality star back to her resume when Bravo’s The Valley comes out this spring.

The series will follow a “group of close friends as they trade bottle service in West Hollywood for baby bottles in the Valley all while they navigate bustling businesses, rocky relationships and feisty friendships.”

Along with Kristen and her beau Luke, the cast will also include Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright, Danny and Nia Booko, Jesse and Michelle Lally, and Jason and Janet Caperna.
