Larsa Pippen Defends Lisa Hochstein for Opening Up to Her Mother-in-Law About Divorce
When Lenny and Lisa first split up, the RHOM cast member confided in her mother-in-law. Her bestie, Larsa, reveals why.
Larsa Pippen and Lisa Hochstein may have had beef about a mortgage at the beginning of The Real Housewives of Miami Season 5, but their friendship is now stronger than ever.
After Lisa found out that her plastic surgeon husband, Dr. Lenny Hochstein, wanted a divorce, Larsa and the rest of the RHOM ladies were by her side to support her.
While Lisa initially also got support from Lenny’s mom, Marina Hochstein (which was highlighted on the show), things changed over time. On the December 12 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Lisa revealed where her relationship with her mother-in-law stood.
“She definitely was on my side in the beginning,” she explained. “Today, you know, it’s her only son, so she’s more on his side, and it’s expected.”
While Lisa said her bond with Marina is now different, her friendship with Larsa hasn’t wavered. During the March 5 episode of WWHL, Larsa shared some insight on why Lisa would confide in Marina about Lenny, and she gave yet another update on where their relationship is now.
“I feel like Lisa was really close with her mother-in-law at one point,” Larsa said. “[She] was basically like her mom, so I feel like she was venting to her, thinking that they were going to be as close when [Lisa and Lenny] broke up. But, clearly, that’s not the case.”
Lisa may not be discussing her divorce with Marina anymore, but she does have a lot of women to lean on as she navigates her split (plus, she now has her boyfriend, Jody Glidden, in her corner). She told OK! Magazine that every cast member — including Larsa, Alexia Nepola, Dr. Nicole Martin, Guerdy Abraira, Julia Lemigova, and friends Adriana de Moura, Marysol Patton, and Kiki Barth — has been there for her in one way or another since she and Lenny separated in the spring of 2022.
“All the women really rallied behind me and they were so supportive,” Lisa said. “There’s not one in the group that didn’t try to be there for me.”
